JOYPURHAT, Oct 3, 2023 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a man to life-
term imprisonment in a drug case filed in 2021 with Panchbibi Thana of the
district.

Judge of District Special Tribunal-5 Md Abbas Uddin handed down the verdict
to Harunur Rashid Tutul, 42, hailed from Bogura Sadar Upazila.

The court also fined him Taka 50,000.

According to the prosecution, on January 8 in 2021, members of Detective
Branch (DB) of Police arrested Tutul with 80 bottles of phensidyl in Berakhai
road area under Panchbibi upazila of the district and filed a case under
Narcotics Control Act.

On January 21 in the year police pressed the charge-sheet against him.

Testifying witnesses and evidences, the court gave the order, said Public
Prosecutor (PP) Nipendranath Mondol.
