BHOLA, Oct 21, 2023 (BSS)- Medical assistance cheques worth about Taka 22 lakh were distributed among the 44 patients suffering from various complicated diseases, including cancer, in Lalmohan upazila of the district today.

Member of Parliament (MP) Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shaon handed over the cheques to the patients as the chief guest at a function held at the Lalmohan upazila Social Service office, organized by the Department of Social Services with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Anamika Nazrul in the chair.

Chief guest said, with the visionary steps under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh is now advancing at an unstoppable pace in development. There is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina to continue these ongoing development activities of the country, he added.

Upazila Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Giasuddin Ahmed, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Taiyubur Rahman, Upazila Awami League General Secretary Fakrul Alam Howladar and Upazila Social Service Officer Md. Masud, among others, were present.

A total of 44 patients suffering from Cancer, Kidney, Liver Cirrhosis, Stroke, Paralysis, Congenital Heart Disease and Thalassemia were provided medical assistance of an amount of Taka 50,000 per person.
