NETRAKONA, Nov 4, 2023 (BSS) - The Community Policing Day-2023 was observed in the district today in a befitting manner.

Marking the day, Netrakona district police and district Community Policing Committee jointly chalked out various programmes including bringing out a colorful rally and holding discussion.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Netrakona Mohammad Foyaz Ahmed formally inaugurated the day's programmes by releasing the colorful balloons from the district police office premises.

As part of the programmes, a colorful rally was brought out from the district police office premises and it was ended at the Netrakona Police Line ground after parading the main roads of the town this morning.

 A discussion meeting was also held at the district Police Line's conference room.
 
Chaired by SP Netrakona Mohammad Foyaz Ahmed, the discussion was addressed, among others, by additional deputy commissioner, Netrakona and deputy director of local government department Mohammad Rofiquzzaman, president of district Awami League (AL) valiant Freedom Fighter Advocate Amirul Islam, its general secretary Advocate Shamsur Rahman Liton, former commander of district Muktijoddha Sangsad Nurul Amin and president of district community Policing Committee Saidur Rahman and member secretary of Netrakona District Press Club and valiant Freedom Fighter Advocate Habibur Rahman.

The speakers said the community policing network has been playing an important role to build up social movement against crime, corruption and anti-social activities side by side with maintaining peace and law and order in the society.

Later, crests and certificates were distributed to the best community policing committee members of the district.
