MYMENSINGH, Nov 7, 2023 (BSS) - At least four persons were killed and 20 others injured in a triangular collision among three vehicles near Shikarikanda area here early Tuesday.

Officer-in-Charge of Mymensingh Model Police Station Shah Kamal Akanda said the accident occurred around 12.30 am on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway when a bus hit a CNG-run three wheeler and a pickup van from behind while trying to overtake.

"The pickup van overturned beside the road and the bus rammed into a roadside divider after hitting it. Two persons died on the spot while two others died on their way to the hospital," he added.

Police and fire service members rescued the injured and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH). However, the police could not identify the victims immediately.

The bodies have been kept at the MMCH morgue for autopsy, the official said.
