MUNSHIGANJ, Nov 7, 2023 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a woman to life-term imprisonment for killing her stepson in Sirajdikhan upazila in 2017.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Yasmin Urmi handed down the verdict to the woman. The court also fined her Tk 1 lakh. If she fails to pay the amount, she will have to serve one year more in jail.

According to the prosecution, the woman strangled the 9-year-old-boy namely Yasin to death at their house and threw his body in a water body at Shialdi village in Sirajdikhan upazila on June 11 in 2017. Following the murder, Yasin's father filed a murder case.
