RANGPUR, Nov 9, 2023 (BSS) - Successful implementation of massive programs by the government has ensured the crucial need of women empowerment alongside accelerating the pace of development to build a smart Bangladesh by 2041 next.
Officials, experts and professionals expressed the view today at a women's rally organised by the District Information Office (DIO) at Rangpur Office of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha in the city.
With Senior District Information Officer Md. Atikur Rahman Shah in the chair, Chairman of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha for Rangpur Rozy Rahman attended the event as the chief guest.
Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs for Rangpur Most Selorara Begum and senior journalist Md Mamun Islam addressed as special guests.
Moderated by Assistant Director of Rangpur District Information Office Md Alamgir Kabir, 100 female students, housewives and female entrepreneurs participated in the event.
Atikur Rahman discussed fabulous successes achieved by the government in digitization, education, agriculture, improvement of living standard of common people, women development, poverty alleviation, health services and sanitation, vaccination of babies and hygiene of adolescents and other sectors.
Mamun Islam lauded the government for execution of multidimensional epoch-making programs like digitization, education assistance for female education, cost-free books, self-employment of women and their participation in local government elections to promote women empowerment.
Selorar Begum said the DWA is implementing training programs for women and providing support and loans alongside other social safety-net programs for women to make them self-reliant through income generation activities to build a developed smart Bangladesh.
The chief guest called upon the participating women to avail various facilities, assistance and benefits being provided by the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for their self-employment to further improve standard of living and their empowerment.
"All of us should work unitedly to produce smart citizens to achieve the SDGs by 2030 and build a smart Bangladesh by 2041 to realize the dream of building a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamed by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujubur Rahman," she added.
