Khulna AL condemns BNP's false statement

KHULNA, Nov 15, 2023 (BSS) - City and District Units of Awami League(AL) here
today in a press conference condemns the false statement of Khulna BNP after
the grand public rally of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

"BNP leaders must to seek apology to the people of Khulna for their false,
baseless and fabricated statement, published in different medias over the
development of Khulna sent by S M Monirul Islam Bappy, member secretary of
District Unit BNP who is also known as a leader of ban party as well as a
criminal of huge cases in the region," said Talukder Abdul Khaleque,
President of City unit Awami League in a written speech at Journalist Humayun
Kabir Balu auditorium in Khulna Press Club.

Terming BNP and BNP led Jamaat alliance government could not implement any
projects including Rupsha Bridge, he said, adding that the then Prime
Minister Begum Khaleda Zia who had elected as Parliament member from Khulna-2
constituency had shut down state own Jute Mills, Mongla Port, Khulna
Shipyard, Sheikh Abu Naser Specialised Hospital, Textile Mill etc.

Rejecting false statement of BNP, Khaleque, also the Mayor of Khulna City
Corporation (KCC) said Sheikh Hasina begun construction work of Khanjahan Ali
(Rupsha) Bridge on May 30 in 2001.

Narrating numerous development projects of South-Western Zone during the last
14 and half years, Khaleque said implementation of airport at Foyla in
Bagerhat, supply of gas through pipe line is ongoing.

Sheikh Hasina led AL government reopen and run all closed Jute Mills, Mongla
Port and Shipyard Ltd, the KCC Mayor said, adding that around Taka 10, 000
crore has been paid to all dues of Jute Mills labourers and constructed 800
megawatt power plant at closed News Print Mill.

Khaleque urged BNP leaders to withdraw their false statement seeking pardon
to people otherwise they will face legal action soon.

AL District Unit President Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, general secretary advocate
Sujit Adhikary, city unit general secretary MDA Babul Rana, among others,
were present.
