NETRAKONA, Nov 16, 2023 (BSS) - Police seized one truck and one pick up loaded with 355 sacks of smuggled Indian sugar and arrested five alleged smugglers from Chandan Kandi area on the Netrakona-Kendua road today. 

Police said, acting on a tip off, a police team from Netrakona Model police station rushed to spot and seized the vehicles with sugar and nabbed five persons. 

The arrested were Habibur Rahman, son of Abdur Razzak of village Nayapara under Kishorganj district, Din Islam, son of Jalal Uddin of village Shatal under Kishorganj district, Sumon Mia, son of Abdul Aziz of village Raypasha under Mymensingh district, Akash Mia, son of Sabuj Mia of village Amtala under Netrakona district and Rasel Mia, son of Abul Kashem of village Amtala under the Netrakona district. 

A case was filed with Netrakona Model Police Station in this connection.
