RAJSHAHI, Nov 17, 2023 (BSS)- Integrated efforts of all the government, non-
government and other professional organizations concerned can be the crucial 
means of building Smart Rajshahi.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for building 
'Smart Bangladesh'. So, all the entities concerned should come forward and 
work together for building smart Rajshahi.

Earlier, the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) signed a bilateral memorandum of 
understanding (MoU) with A2I of the ICT division in this regard.

Subsequently, a six-day policy formulation training workshop for transforming 
Rajshahi into a smart city as part of building Smart Bangladesh by 2041 was 
held here from October 14 to 19 last.

In addition to the RCC's officials concerned, academics, corporate and other 
officials took part in the workshop formulating a strategy plan for smart 
Rajshahi on the basis of suggestions and recommendations of the experts 
concerned. 
 
They also put forward the recommendations related to establishing Smart 
Bangladesh Design Laboratory for formulating design and planning with the 
ultimate goal for building smart Rajshahi city.
 
City Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton came up with the observation while 
addressing a planning meeting for building smart Rajshahi at the city bhaban 
conference hall here Thursday evening as chief guest.
RCC authority held the meeting related to Smart Bangladesh Design Laboratory 
for formulating design and planning with the ultimate goal of building smart 
Rajshahi city.

A2I Chief-E-Governance of the ICT division Dr Farhad Zahid Sheikh, A2I 
Service Design Analyst Engineer Golam Sarwar and Digital Service Design Lab 
(DSDL) Coordinator Ashiqul Aziz Sheikh addressed the meeting as resource 
persons disseminating their expertise on the issue.

RCC Chief Executive Officer Dr ABM Sharif Uddin, Chief Engineer Nur Islam, 
Chief Health Officer Dr FAM Anzuman Ara Begum and Chief Conservancy Officer 
Sheikh Muhammad Mamun also spoke on the occasion.

In his remarks, Mayor Liton hoped that they will expose and portray a 
sustainable roadmap through which the citizens will get a clear idea about 
smart Rajshahi city.
 
After formulating the smart Rajshahi city planning, those will be implemented 
in phases in the years to come.
 
He urged the participants to formulate a sustainable planning and roadmap on 
smart Rajshahi city with sincere and intensive participation so that the city 
dwellers can derive total benefits of it.
