CHATTOGRAM, Nov 19, 2023 (BSS)-A Chattogram court here today sentenced life term imprisonment to a youth for trading drugs here in 2021.
 
The court of the Fifth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Nargis Akter awarded life-term imprisonment to Akter Hossain who hailed from Teqnaf Upazila of Cox’sbazar district for trading drugs to the drug sellers. 

According to the prosecution story was in brief that acting on a tip-off, a team of Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) detained the drug trader Akter Hossain with 5110 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets from Tiger-pass area under city’s Khulshi thana on November 22, 2021.
The then DNC official Tapan Kanti Sharma filed a case with Khulshi police station against the alleged drug trader on the same day.
  
Police submitted the charge sheet before the court on April 29 in 2021 while the court framed charges against him on July 27, 2021.

The court announced the verdict in presence of the convicted person after examining a total of eight prosecution witnesses out of 11.
