GAIBANDHA, November 20, 2023 (BSS) - As many as 500 marginal farmers of Tarepur union of Sundarganj upazila of the district received rice seed, chemical fertilizer and pesticides as Agri inputs with the theme of “Bachlee Krishok, Bachbe Desh, Unnayaner Bangladesh”. 

With the financial support of Dhaka Bank and in cooperation with Petrocam, a function was also held at Zora-chatal of the union with chairman of the union parishad Aminul Islam in the chair. 

Upazila Agriculture Officer Rashidul Kabir, manager of Dhaka Bank Limited, Rangpur branch, Shahidul Islam and regional manager of Petrocam, Bogura region Anisur Rahman addressed the function, among others. 

The speakers in their speeches urged the farmers to sow the rice seed on their respective land during the current Robi season properly to produce healthy seedlings in a bid to transplant those during the Boro season.  

Each of the farmers received rice seed, chemical fertilizers and pesticides worth about Tk 5,000, sources said.
