SIRAJGANJ, Nov 21, 2023 (BSS) - Detective Branch of police in separate drives in the district arrested four drug peddlers with 16,000 pieces of yaba tablets today.

Officer-in-Charge of district DB police Md Julhash said on information they arrested two people from Bangabandhu Setu's West side at around 4 am. Searching those, DB men found 8,000 pieces of yaba tablets from their possession.

The detainees were identified as Md Shafayet Fakir, 35, hailed from Bogura district and Md Juel Mia, 30, a resident in Rangpur district.

In another drive at Sadanandapur in Sadar Upazila this morning, DB personnel held two other drug peddlers with 8,000 yaba tablets.

The detainees are Bashed Fakir, 32, hailed from Shibganj upazila in Bogura and Md Mizanur Rahman, 28, a resident Joypurhat district.

Two cases were filed under Narcotics Control Act against them.
