RANGPUR, Nov 23, 2023 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two presumed drug traffickers with 7,310 pieces of Yaba tablets from Domdoma Islampur point on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Mithapukur upazila here on Wednesday.

 "On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur battalion headquarters searched a passenger bus there and arrested them with the contraband Yaba tablets from the spot," a press release said today.

 The detainees were identified as Md. Shahidul Haque, 45, of village Parua Nepal Bosti and Md. Abdul Malek, 43, of village Belsara Jhulli Bosti under Baliadangi upazila in Thakurgaon district.

 During preliminary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted their involvement in drug trading in connivance with each other cohorts for a long time.

 "After filing a case against the arrested persons in this connection, the elite force handed them over to Mithapukur police station," the release added.
