MUNSHIGANJ, Nov 25, 2023 (BSS) - An elderly woman and her grandson were killed in a road accident in Gazaria area of Munshiganj of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway this afternoon.

The accident took place at the Baluakandi bus stand on the highway when they were trying to cross the road. 

The deceased are Zohra Begum, 52, and her daughter's eight-month-old grandson Abdullah.

Eyewitnesses said Comilla-bound a passenger bus named Asia Aircon ran away after hitting the victims while crossing the road there. They died on the spot. 

Officer-in-charge of Bhaberchar highway police Humayun Kabir confirmed the incident.
