Pass rate, GPA-5 achievers drop in Ctg board

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 26, 2023 (BSS) - The number of Grade Point Average (GPA) 5

achievers and the percentage of the pass rate decreased in this year's Higher
Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under Chattogram education board.

A total of 6,339 students secured GPA-5 under the board, while last year the
number was 12,670. The percentage of pass rate is 74.45 this year while it
was 80.50 percent in previous year, Professor AMM Mujibur Rahman, Controller
of the examination said.

A total of 75,903 examinees out of 1,01,248 from 279 colleges, passed in the
examinations held in 2023.

Among the successful candidates, male students are 36,221 percent while
female students are 39,682.

A total of 6,339 students secured GPA (Grade Point Average) - 5 in the
examination.

Of whom, 2885 are male and 3454 female students obtained GPA-5, according to
an official copy of the result.

Female students have outperformed the male candidates in this year's in HSC
exam in both pass rate and GPA-5 under the board.

Among the successful, male students are 71.24 percent while female students
are 77.23.
 
The girl's pass rate of the education board is 77.23 percent while the pass
rate of boys is 71.24 percent, Professor Mujib added.
