MYMENSINGH, Dec 4, 2023 (BSS) - Police arrested three leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), a student wing of BNP, while they were trying to set a bus on fire on the Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road in Ragharpur Saheb Kachari Bazar area of Sadar upazila here last night.

The arrested were identified as Suman Chandra Debnath, 30, a resident of Baghmara area of Mymensingh city, Khairul, 30, of Char Gobdia area and Akram Hossain, 24, a resident of Badekalpa area of the upazila of the district.

Police also recovered petrol bombs from their possession.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Mymensingh Kotwali Model Police Station Shah Kamal Akand said around 8:30 pm last night the BNP and allied leaders and activists brought out a secret rally in the area and they tried to set fire to the bus from the procession. At that time, police arrested three leaders of Chhatra Dal with petrol bombs. 

A case has been filed against them, the OC said.
