NATORE, Dec 5, 2023 (BSS) - The World Soil Day was observed in the district as well as elsewhere in the country and the globe today.

This year's theme of the day is "Soil and Water: A Source of Life".

To mark the day, a discussion was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in the morning.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Naser Bhuiyan presided over the discussion. It was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Masudur Rahman, Additional Police Super ATM Mainul Islam, Training Officer of district Department of Agricultural Extension Dr Yasin Ali and Chief Scientific Officer of Soil Resource Management Md Shohidul Islam.

Earlier, a grand rally was brought out from the district Collectorate Building and ended at the same venue after parading the main roads of the town.
