BOGURA, Dec 6, 2023 (BSS) - A straw-laden truck was set on fire in Shahjahanpur upazila of the district in the early hours of today.

On information, fire service and civil defense members brought the fire under control after about half an hour of effort.

Officer-in-Charge of Shahjahanpur Thana Shahidul Islam said the incident occurred in Noimile area on Dhaka-Rangpur Highway on the first day of the two-day blockade enforced by BNP and its allies. "Setting fire on the truck miscreants fled the scene" the OC added.

Nobody was injured in the fire. Shahidul Islam also said they are trying to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

The latest 48-hours blockade was announced by the BNP on Monday.
