MANIKGANJ, Dec 13, 2023 (BSS)-All necessary preparations have been taken to observe the ‘Martyred Intellectual Day’ and ‘Victory Day’ in a befitting manner in the district.

 
The observance of 'Martyred Intellectual Day' will be started with the placing of floral wreath at the Shahid Muktijoddha Smriti Stombho in the morning under the auspices of Manikganj District Administration and Manikganj Poura Sava.
 
Discussions will be held in all educational institutions under the auspices of Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNO), District Education Officer (DEO) and District Primary Education Officer (DPEO).
 
A discussion on the appreciation of ‘Martyred Intellectual Day’ will be held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Manikganj.
 
The programmes of the Victory Day will begin with 31 gun salutes with the sun rises and hoisting the National Flags with appropriate measures atop all the government, semi-government, autonomous and private buildings in the morning.
 
Deputy Commissioner Rahana Akther, SP Golam Azad Khan, Manikganj Zila Parishad Chairman Freedom Fighter Advocate Golam Mohi Uddin, Civil Surgeon Dr. Moazzam Ali Khan Chowdhury. Manikganj Poura Sava Mayor Md. Ramjan Ali, Freedom Fighters, government officials, teachers-students and people of all walks of life will place the wreaths at the Shahid Muktijoddha Smrity Stombha.
 
 Deputy Commissioner Rahana Akther will take the formal salute at the assembly of the Freedom Fighters, Police, Ansars and VDP, BNCC, Fire Service and Civil Defence, students of schools, colleges, Rover and Boys scouts and other social organizations at the Shahid Miraj-Tapon Stadium.
 
Discussions, reception to the Freedom Fighters and members of the martyred freedom fighters will also be held.
 
Discussion against militancy and drugs and special prayers at mosques and other worships, improved diet will be supplied to the jail, hospitals and inmates of government Shishu Paribar, sports and discussion with the participation of women also included in the programmes. Besides T-20 Cricket and football competitions will be held at the Shahid Miraj-Tapon Stadium. Screening of films on the War of Liberation will also be included in the programmes.
