BOGURA, Dec 14, 2023 (BSS) - The Martyred Intellectuals Day-2023 was observed in the district paying rich tributes to the martyred sons of the soil in a befitting manner today.

On the occasion, various organisations paid rich tributes at Bogura Central Shaheed Minar at midnight today.

Marking the day, district Awami League (AL) organised a discussion at the district AL party office this morning.

Member of Parliament of Bogura Sadar Constituency Ragebul Ahsan Ripu addressed the function as the chief guest with district Awami League president Mojibur Rahman Majnu in the chair.

Bogura District Awami League General Secretary Abdullah Al Raji Jewell, District Awami League leaders T Zaman Niketa, Abul Kalam Azad, Pradeep Kumar Roy, Asadur Rahman Dulu, Advocate Zakir Hossain Nawab, Principal Shahadat Alam Jhunu, Nasreen, among others, spoke.

Meanwhile, district and upazila administration held a discussion at the killing field of Fanpore Union Parishad on the outskirts of Bogura town while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Saiful Islam addressed the function as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Firoza Parveen in the chair this afternoon.

Superintendent of Police Sudip Kumar Chakraborty, Zilla Parishad Chairman Dr. Mokbul Hossain, former commander of District Freedom Fighters Council Ruhul Amin, Sadar Upazila Chairman Abu Safian Safiq and Fanpore Union Parishad Chairman Md. Mehdi Hasan were present as the special guests.
