NARAIL, Dec 15, 2023 (BSS) - All preparations have been taken to celebrate the Victory Day in the district tomorrow in a befitting manner.

 
The district administration and different organizations have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the Victory Day.

 
The programmes include hoisting of the national flags atop all public and private buildings, placing of wreaths on the premises of the Zilla Shilpakala Academy to pay homage to martyrs, wreath laying and prayer ceremony at 'Badhya Bhumi 'adjacent to Narail Main Post Office area, placing wreaths at Bangabandhu's Mural at District Commissioner's office premises.

Marking the day, a colorful parade and display will be held at the Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Stadium by Bir Muktijoddha, Bangladesh Police, Ansar and VDP, BNCC, Fire Service, Rover Scouts, Schools, Colleges, Madrasas and various educational institutions, Girls Guides and Youth Organizations around 8.30am.

On the occasion of the Victory Day, a reception to the freedom fighters and the family members of the martyred ones will be held on local Shilpakala Academy premises at 11:30am.

A discussion will also be held on the spirit of liberation war and the best use of digital technology in building Sonar Bangla, the dream of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Special prayers will be held in different mosques, temples, churches, pagodas and other sub-sanctuaries after Johar prayers for the salvation of the departed souls of the martyred freedom fighters, the good health of the freedom fighters and the peace, prosperity and progress of the nation.

Improved diet will be served at government hospitals, prisons, orphanages and other places of worship.

Sports competition and discussion meetings with the participation of women will be held in Municipal Sunflower School in the afternoon.

A friendly football match between District Administration and Narail Municipal XI will be held at Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Stadium at 3.30pm.

A cultural programme will be held at the Zilla Shilpakala Academy at 7 pm to mark the Great Victory Day.
