NARSINGDI, Dec 19, 2023 (BSS) - A battery-run auto rickshaw driver was killed and three others were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Mahmudabad area under Raipura upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as auto rickshaw driver Sabuj Miah, 25, son of Masto Miah of Bir Shrestha Motiur Rahman village of Muchapur union of the upazila.

According to the police and eyewitness, the accident occurred when a covered van lost control and rammed the battery-run auto rickshaw standing on the left side of the road around 6:45am, leaving auto rickshaw driver killed on the spot and three passengers seriously injured.
 

The injured were taken to Bhairav Hospital, said inspector of Bhairav Highway Police Station Saju Miah said.

Police seized the two vehicles from the spot.
