MUNSHIGANJ, Dec 19, 2023 (BSS) - Police arrested eight robbers of an inter-district robbery gang from Ichapura Chowrasta area Sirajdikhan upazila of the district in the early hours of today.

The arrested robbers were identified as Palash Mia,28, of Shak Tala village of Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali district, Md. Zakir Hossain,35, of Char Kukrimukdi village of Charfashion upazila of Bhola district, Md Shakil ,23, of Char Bhatamara village of Muladi upazila in Barishal district, Md Jamal Mia,36, of Char Malia Gramesor of Muladi Upazila of Barishal District, Noor Mohammad,32, of Bepari Kandi village of Shakhipur upazila of Shariatpur district, Ahmed Sabuj,29, of Rampura village of Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur district, Saddam Biswas, 39, of Batkajal village of Baufal upazila of Patuakhali district and Hriday Haoladar,24, of Char Bhatamara village of Muladi upazila in Barishal district.

On secret information, a team of police conducted a raid in the area around 3 am today while they were preparing for a robbery and arrested them with three iron shabals, three throws, ramda, eight mobile sets and an unregistered pick-up, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sirajdikhan Police Station Mujahidul Islam said.

They were sent to jail, the OC added.
