JASHORE, Dec 24, 2023 (BSS) - A driver of a truck and his associate were
killed as a train hit the vehicle in Churamankathi area under Sadar upazila
of the district early this morning.

The deceased were identified as driver Parvez Hossain, 50, hailed from
Kotchandpur upazila in Jhenaidah district and his assistant Nazmul Islam, 38,
a resident of Maheshpur upazila.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (SI) of Shajiali Police Camp Toyfiq Elahi said the
accident occurred when a Khulna-bound Rocket train hit a fodder-laden truck
as it was passing the Daspara rail level crossing around 5 am, leaving the
duo Parvez and Nazmul dead on the spot.

Besides, gatekeeper of the level crossing injured in the accident.

Later, fire service workers recovered their bodies and sent those to Jashore
General Hospital morgue, said Senior Station Officer of Jashore Fire Service
and Civil Defence Azizul Haque.
