SYLHET, Dec 26, 2023 (BSS)- A man and his son were killed and another was injured in a road accident as an auto rickshaw was hit by a truck in Humayun Rashid square area of the city last night.

The deceased were identified as registrar of North East Medical College's cancer department Dr Tauhid-ur-Rashid Chowdhury and his son Tanha Rashid Chowdhury.

The accident occurred when two trucks trying to overtake each other hit the CNG-run auto rickshaw around 10pm last night, leaving three passengers of the CNG-run auto rickshaw injured, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Mohammad Saiful Islam said.

The injured were taken to Osmani Medical College and Hospital, where on-duty the doctor declared two of them dead.

The bodies were kept at the Osmani Medical College Hospital morgue, officer-in-charge (OC) of South Surma Police Station Yardous Hasan said.
