Justice Nizamul for objective journalism

GAIBANDHA, Dec 27, 2023 (BSS) - Bangladesh Press Council Chairman Justice Nizamul Haque Nasim today urged journalists to practice objective journalism in their respective media to push forward the country towards desired development and build Smart Bangladesh.

 
"Yellow journalism is a barrier to precede the country toward development as it creates negative impacts to the mind of the people and discourage them to do good work for the nation," he said.
 
Justice Nizamul came up with the comments while addressing a concluding ceremony of the day-long training workshop on the "Prevention of Yellow Journalism in Mass Media and Objective Journalism" at the hall room of the Circuit House of the town.
 
The Bangladesh Press Council arranged the function in cooperation with district administration.
 
Justice Nizamul Haque addressed the ceremony as the chief guest with additional deputy commissioner-Development and human resources Sushanta Kumar Mahato in the chair.

Justice Nizamul Haque also urged the journalists to read out the Press Council Act 1974 properly to avoid the complexities regarding journalism.

Later, he distributed certificates among the participants.
 
A total of 43 journalists of print and electronic media took part in the workshop.
