NATORE, Dec 30, 2023 (BSS) - The National Expatriates' Day was observed today in the district for the first time at the initiative of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment with the theme "Probashir Kalyan, Morzada-Amader Ongikar, Smart Bangladesh Goray Tarao Soman Ongshidar".
On the occasion of the day, a discussion was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office this morning with DC Abu Naser Bhuiyan in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Masudur Rahman moderated the discussion.
Superintendent of Police Md. Tariqul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police Md Shariful Islam, Principal of Natore Government Technical Training Center Engineer Mohammad Golam Nabi, its Trainer Saidur Rahman, Educationist Subidh Kumar Maitra and Principal Abdur Razzaq, Executive Director of 'Alo' Shamima Laiju Neela and President of Natore Press Club Faraji Ahmad Rafiq Baban, also spoke.
The speakers said that remittance earners are playing an important role in keeping the wheels of the country's economy moving. The government has taken various steps including setting up technical training centers and providing training for these remittance fighters, providing incentives for remittance of expatriate income.
