BOGURA, Jan 3, 2024 (BSS) - Two people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run three-wheeler and a pickup van in Matidoli area of the district town today.

The deceased were identified as CNG-run three-wheeler driver Mokhleshur Rahman, 50, son of Yunus Ali, a resident of Shibganj upazila of the district and Rafiqul Islam, 52, son of Abul Hossain of Shyampur village of the same upazila.

The accident occurred around 8am when the CNG-run three-wheeler collided head-on with the pickup van, leaving two three-wheeler passengers dead on the spot and two others injured, assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Kundarhat Highway Police outpost Tajul Islam said.

The injured were taken to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital, ASI said.

Police seized the pickup van, but its driver managed to flee away from the scene, he added.
