CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 10, 2024 (BSS) - Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered 1.565 KG of heroin, 1,985 yaba tablets and 15 bottles of phensidyl syrup from Shibganj upazila of the district.

The arrested person was identified as Md. Shahadat Hossain, 23 of Kagmari village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district.

BGB said, acting on detective information, an operation team of the BGB from Sonamasjid border out post conducted a raid at Koilabari BGB Vehicle Scanner Checkpost area in Shibganj upazila from 12 noon till 2-30 pm and detained a motorcycle.

After searching the motorcycle, BGB seized the heroin, yaba tablets and phensidyl syrup.

Later, the BGB handed him over to the police of Shibganj thana after filing a case, the sources added.
