NETRAKONA, Jan 16, 2024 (BSS)-The government has allocated a total of 49,070
blankets for the cold-stricken poor people of ten upazilas and five
municipalities in the district as the entire district has been experiencing
severe cold wave for the last seven days.

District Relief and Disaster Management Department sources said, meanwhile,
district administration has received all the blankets, which was allocated
from the prime minister's relief fund and sent these to the upazila
authorities and municipality mayors for distribute.

Of the blankets, 2,500 have already been distributed among the inmates of the
orphanage children, autistic children, poor Madrasha students and floating
people by the deputy commissioner Netrakona Shahed Parvez, the sources added.
