RAJSHAHI, Jan 23, 2024 (BSS) - Utmost emphasis should be given on reaching
the messages related to the building of Smart Bangladesh envisioned by Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina to the grassroots populations.
Field level administrative and other officials concerned, public
representatives, development activists and other stakeholders should come
forward and work together as the grassroots people can play a vital role to
this end.
Discussants came up with the observation while addressing a view-sharing
meeting titled "Way Forward to build Smart Bangladesh" in the district on
Monday.
Upazila administration organized the meeting at Durgapur Upazila Parishad
auditorium largely attended by officials of all line departments, public
representatives and media personnel.
Abdul Wadud, MP, and Upazila Chairman Nazrul Islam addressed the meeting as
chief and special guests respectively, while Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)
Abdul Karim was in the chair.
The UNO also gave an illustration on aspects of building Smart Bangladesh
during his concept paper presentation.
Lawmaker Abdul Wadud said the present government under the prudent and
farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working
relentlessly for building 'Smart Bangladesh' for transforming the country
into a developed one by 2041.
Digital Bangladesh has already been built and time has come to build Smart
Bangladesh with the dynamic and competent leadership of the Premier.
He told the meeting that a target has been set to build Smart Bangladesh on
the basis of four pillars- Smart Citizen, Smart Government, Smart Society and
Smart Economy- by 2041.
He called for reaching the messages to the doorsteps of the grassroots people
putting emphasis on implementation of cashless, transparent and accountable
methods in the field of transaction.
Thereby, a smart economy will be established through formulation of a
corruption-free and accountable system.
He also said Smart Bangladesh could be possible when cherished progress in
the field of industries, factories, trade, business, health, education and
agriculture will attain.
"We have no more time to look backward but we have to look forward as the
present Bangladesh has been marching forward vibrantly," he added.
