RAJSHAHI, Jan 27, 2024 (BSS) - Construction works of ten more eye-catching foot over bridges are progressing fast at different mass-important road crossings and places in the city aimed at lessening the gradually mounting traffic congestion together with making the pedestrian movement smooth in the city.
 
The bridges are being constructed at Luxmipur Mintu crossing, in front of New Government Degree College, Court, Nawdapara, in front of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, Binodpur, in front of Agrani School and College, Saheb Bazar Zero Point, Seroil Railway Station and in front of Laboratory Government School.

On behalf of its Taka 2,993-crore project titled 'Integrated Urban Infrastructure Development in Rajshahi City', Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has been constructing the bridges with an estimated cost of around Taka 54 crore.

City Mayor and Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League AHM Khairuzzaman Liton revealed this while inspecting the construction works of one of the bridges at Mintu crossing in the city on Friday afternoon.

Earlier, the city corporation has constructed a 202.5-meter flyover along with a 120-meter ramp at Budhpara Railway crossing with an estimated cost of Taka 29.28 crore for the first time in Rajshahi city.

Liton said the Rajshahi city will get a new look upon the successful implementation of the mega project.

RCC Chief Engineer Nur Islam and Executive Engineer Mahmudur Rahman were present on the occasion.
