SIRAJGANJ, Jan 30, 2024 (BSS) - Bodies of three family members were recovered from a flat in Barwari Battala area by breaking the lock on the door of a three-storey building under Tarash municipality of the district last night.
 
The deceased were identified as Bikash Sarkar, 45, his wife Swarna Sarkar, 40, and their daughter Parmita Sarkar Tushi,15, residents of Barwari Battala area of the municipality.

Tarash Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Nure Alam said that the relatives of the victims have not been in touch for the last two days. They tried to communicate by mobile phone but failed. After going to the house and seeing the lock hanging from outside, the relatives informed the police.

Police recovered the bodies of the couple and their daughter from the flat around 3am last night.

The husband, wife and daughter were hacked and slaughtered, he said.
Teams of RAB, Police, CID and PBI reached the spot and started investigation, he added.
