CHATTOGRAM, Feb 2, 2024 (BSS) - An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Zorargonj thana

police died after falling sick while he was on duty in Zorargonj Bazar area at Mirarsari upazila of the district on Friday.

The deceased was identified ASI Selim Mia, 35, son of Abdur Razzak, hailed from Motlob thana
under Chandpur district. He left behind his wife, two babies and a host of relatives to mourn his death.

Selim Mia worked for the Zorargonj thana, under Mirsari upazila of the district, said Abdullah Al Harun, officer-in-Charge (OC) of Zorargonj thana.

OC of Zorargonj thana told BSS that ASI Selim fell sick while he was on duty in Zorargonj Bazar area at Mirarsari upazila of the district at about 10 am today.

He was taken to a nearby Baroirhat General Hospital immediately, where the attending doctor
declared him dead.

Quoting doctors, the police officer informed that ASI Selim died of cardiac arrest.

Constable Selim Mia joined Bangladesh Police in 2008 as constable. He was promoted to ASI in
2016.

His body was sent to his village home this afternoon, Abdullah Al Harun said.
