TANGAIL, Feb 8, 2024 (BSS)- A motorcyclist was killed and another injured after being hit by a truck on the Tangail-Aricha regional road in Govt. M M Ali College Mor area under Sadar upazila of the district today.

The deceased was identified as Rukunuzzaman, 35 son of Akhtarul of Mirganj area under Bagha upazila of Rajshahi. He was a sales officer of Citigroup. 

The accident occurred when a Nagarpur-bound sand-laden truck from Sylhet hit the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in the area around 9am, leaving the motorcycle rider dead on the spot and another injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Tangail Sadar Police Station Lokman Hossain said.

The injured was taken to Tangail General Hospital, he said.

Police recovered the body from the spot and sent to Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC added.

Police seized the truck and its driver has been arrested.
