COX'S BAZAR, Feb 9, 2024 (BSS) - Two Rohingya children were killed in a road accident being hit by a bus of Payra Paribahan on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf road in Leda area under Teknaf upazila of the district today.

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Ismail, 8, son of Saleh Ahmed of D-26 block of Rohingya camp No. 25, Alikhali in Teknaf upazila, and Mohammad Hasan, 5, son of Mohammad Rafiq of the same area.

The accident occurred when they were going to their relative's place in a neighboring Rohingya camp. On the way, a Teknaf-bound Payra Paribahan bus hit them in the area around 9am this morning, leaving them dead on the spot, Inspector of the Shahpori Highway Police said.

Police seized the bus but the driver and his assistant fled the scene, the officer added.
