BOGURA, Feb 13, 2024 (BSS) - Two adolescents were killed in a road accident on the Bogura second bypass road in Baria of Sabgram area under Sadar upazila of the district today.

The deceased were identified as Mahinur Rahman, 13, son of Md Sumon, resident of Bagbari village under Gabtali upazila, and Sitab, 14, son of Uzzal Rahman, resident of Durgahata village of the same upazila.

The accident occurred when they were going to Bogura town from Gabtali upazila riding a motorcycle and collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction around 11am this morning, leaving the duo dead on the spot, Bogura Fire Service Sub-Officer Masud Parvej said.

Police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bogura Sadar Police Station Saihan Oliullah said.

Later, the bodies were handed over to their family members, OC said.

Police seized the truck and motorcycle from the spot.

Legal actions will be taken in this connection, the OC added.
