BOGURA, Feb 16, 2024, (BSS) - Advocate Rezaul Karim Montu, a valiant freedom fighter, vice-president of Bogura District unit of Awami League, former chairman of Bogura Pourashava, former president and general secretary of Bogura Bar Association, died of a cardiac arrest early this morning.

He was 75, family sources said.

He breathed his last around 6am undergoing treatment this morning at a hospital.    

He left behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

His first namaz-e-janaza was held after Juma prayer at his village in Sonatala upazila of Pakulla union of the district today.

The second namaz-e-janaza will be held at Altafunnesa playground of the district.

District Awami League (AL) President Mojibur Rahman Majnu, MP, its General Secretary Ragebul Ahsan Ripu, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Saiful Islam, former district Bir Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander Ruhul Amin, and leaders of Awami League and affiliated organizations have expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Advocate Rezaul Karim Montu.

In a condolence message, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

He will be buried at South Graveyard of the district.
