GAZIPUR, Feb 17, 2024 (BSS) - State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Simeen Hussain (Rimi) here today said politics does not mean chanting slogan and organizing meeting only.

"Politics includes development, development for the people" she added.

The state minister said this while inaugurating a cancer centre in Kapashia Upazila of the district as the chief guest.

She urged the people to be aware of cancer.

 Simeen emphasized on eating vegetables and fruits resisting cancer (abnormal growth of cells). She also urged people to cultivate vegetables as per direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who directed every inch of land should be cultivated in the country.

Professor Parveen Shahida Akhter, former head of the department of Oncology at National Cancer Institute took part in the function as focal discussant.

Kapasia Upazila Parishad Chairman Md Amanot Hossain Khan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mohammad Ali Siddique and Officer-in-Charge of Kapasia Thana Md Abu Bakr Mia were present.
