CHATTOGRAM, Feb 19, 2024 (BSS) - A Chattogram court today awarded life-term imprisonment to two women for trading yaba in Chattogram.

The court of Chattogram 2nd Chattogram District Additional Sessions Judge Sarwar Alam awarded the judgment to Bharoti Dhar, 31, and Patrani Dhar, 48.

The court also fined them Tk 10,000 each, in default, they will have to serve one year more in jail.
According to the prosecution, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained them from Sitakunda on 6 January, 2022.

A case was filed against them with Sitakunda police station on same day.

The court framed charges against the convicted persons on 18 August, in 2022.

The court announced the verdict in the presence of the accused, Bharoti Dhar after examining a total of 11 prosecution witnesses out of 15.
