CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Feb 23, 2024 (BSS) - Two persons were killed in two separate road mishaps in Chapainawabganj municipality area here today.
 
The deceased were identified as Rafi, 8, son of Kawsar of Kalinagar village under Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj district and Khairunnesa, 60, wife of Ruhul Amin of Nimgachi village under Chapainawabganj municipality.
 
Quoting locals, police said eight-year-old Rafi was seriously injured as he fell down from an auto-rickshaw as a motorcycle hit it at Shibtala intersection at around 10:30 am. He was rushed to the Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital. Later, he was referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way. 
 
Another victim, Khairun, was run over by a sand-laden truck as she was crossing the road at Jorgachi Natunpara in Chapainawabganj municipality at around 11 am. She died on the spot. 
 
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Sadar Hospial morgue for autopsy.
