CHAPAINAWABGANJ, March 8, 2024 (BSS)- The International Women's Day-2024 was observed in the district today with the theme "Narir Somo Odhikar, Somo Sujog-Egiye Nite Hok Biniyog."

Chapainawabganj district administration and District Women Affairs Office jointly arranged a colourful procession and a discussion marking the day.
 
The procession was brought out from the DC office around 10 am. After parading the main roads of the town, the procession ended at the same venue.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at the DC's conference room with the ADC (General) Md. Anisur Rahman in the chair.
 
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chapainawabganj AKM Galiv Khan attended it as the chief guest.

Among others, Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin & Finance) Abul Kalam Sahid, Deputy Director (Local Government) Debendranath Oraon, Civil Surgeon SM Mahmudur Rashid, Bir Muktijoddha Advocate Abdus Samad, General Secretary of a women organisation 'Jago Nari Bonhishikha' Monowara Khatun and Chairman of District Mohila Sangstha Advocate Yasmin Sultana Ruma, others, spoke it.

The speakers stressed on the female education to ensure women rights.
Officials of the district administration, different government and non-government offices, NGOs and women organisations participated in the programmes.
