MAGURA, March 8, 2024 (BSS) – The International Women's Day-2024 was observed in the district today as elsewhere in the country and the globe with a call to ensure overall development of the women folk and their empowerment in the society. 

This year's theme of the day is 'Narir Somo Odhikar, Somo Sujog-Egiye Nite Hok Biniyog'.
 
On the occasion, a colorful rally was brought out from the premises of the collectorate building which paraded the important streets and ended in the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office this morning.

After the rally, a discussion was held on the occasion at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner office this morning. The district administration and department of the district women affairs jointly organised the discussion.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Prashant Kumar Biswas presided over the function.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abdul Quader, Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Muhammad Saniul Quader Additional Superintendent of Police Debashish Karmakar, Education Health Education Officer of District Civil Surgeon Office Zillur Rahman, Deputy Director of District Women Affairs Department Abdul Awal, Executive Director of Non-Governmental Voluntary Organization of RDC Laila Kaniz Banu, among others, spoke on the occasion.
