NATORE, March 11, 2024 (BSS) - Three people including two siblings were killed and another was injured in a road accident on the Bamihal-Durgapur road in Ranirhat area under Singra upazila of the district this afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Mosommat Hosne Ara Begum, 45, wife of Abdus Sattar, a resident of Bankurail village of Singra upazila, Md Imran Hossain, 22, and Md Rabbi Hossain, 18, sons of Abdul Momin, residents of the same area.

The accident occurred in the area  when a truck hit a battery-run auto van around 12.30pm, leaving three passengers of the van dead on the spot and another injured, Officer-in-Charge(OC) of Singra Police Station Abul Kalam  said.

They were going to  Durgapur Bazar from Bankurail village of the upazila.

The injured man was taken to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex, he said.

Police recovered the dead bodies from the spot and sent to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police seized the truck and arrested the driver and helper of the truck, the OC added.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
