CHATTOGRAM, March 16, 2024 (BSS)- Chattogram District Police, in a drive,

arrested five alleged members of a dacoit gang in Wahedpur Rastarmatha area
of Mirsari thana of the district last night.

The arrested are Md Khokan, 28, Mostafa, 35, Suman Mia, 33, Rasel Hossain,
33, and Monsur Alam, 36.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the police conducted a drive in the area and
arrested the robbers when they were taking preparation to commit robbery
targeting the vehicles and pedestrians on the Dhaka-Chattogram highways, said
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirsari Thana Shahidul Islam.
 
The gang roams around the city and district with private cars, taking
advantage of opportunities to commit robbery, he added.

Later, a Ramda, knives, one stolen mobile phone and SIM were recovered from
their possession.
