CHAPAINAWABGANJ, March 17, 2024 (BSS)- The 104th birth anniversary of the
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children Day was celebrated here placing rich tribute to Bangabandhu today.

Chapainawabganj District Administration, Awami League and its front
organisations, different government and non-government organisations and
educational institutions took up elaborate programmes to mark the day.

On the occasion, the national flag was hoisted at all the government, semi government, autonomous institutions, non-government and other offices and buildings.

Awami League and its front organisations offered wreaths of flowers at the portrait of the Father of the Nation at Muktamanch in the morning.

Lawmaker of Women Reserved seat Zara Jabeen Mahbub, Chairman of
Chapainawabganj Zilla Parishad Bir Muktijoddha Md. Ruhul Amin and other Awami League leaders and workers were present at the time.

On the other hand, a children's gathering was held in front of the Deputy
Commissioner's office here.

A colourful procession was taken out from the Deputy Commissioner's office and ended at Muktamanch after parading the main roads of the town where Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj AKM Galiv Khan along with other officials of the district administration, Superintendent of Police Md Saidul Hasan and other police officials and different government and non-government offices and organisations offered wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu.

Besides, discussion and prize distribution ceremony were also held at
Bangabandhu Mancha in front of the Deputy Commissioner's office.

Lawmaker of Chapainawabganj-1 (Shibganj) constituency Dr. Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul attended it as the chief guest while Superintendent of Police Md Saidul Hasan, Chairman of Chapainawabganj Zilla Parishad and valiant freedom fighter Md. Ruhul Amin, Chief Executive Officer of Chapainawabganj Zila Parishad Md. Afaj Uddin, Deputy Director of Local Government Debendranath Oraon, Principal of Nawabganj Government College Professor D. Syed Md. Mozaharul Islam and valiant freedom fighter Advocate Abdus Samad attended it as special guests.
 
Deputy Commissioner AKM Galiv Khan presided over the function.

Earlier, Chapainawabganj Zila Shilpakala Academy arranged competitions of
children on different cultural items.
