SHERPUR, Mar 21, 2024 (BSS)- A dump truck driver was killed  and another injured in  a head-on collision between a dump truck  and a battery-run easy bike on the  Jamalpur-Bakshiganj  road in Nandir Bazar Majhpara area of Charmocharia union under Sadar upazila of the district last night

The deceased was identified as dump truck driver Shukur Ali, 25, son of Nizamuddin, resident of Chuniyarchar village of Charpakshimari union under Sadar upazila of the district.

The accident occurred  when  a dump truck was going to Bakshiganj and on the way collided  head-on with a battery-run easy bike coming from the opposite direction around 8pm last night, leaving two drivers of both vehicle injured,  officer-in-charge (OC) of  Sadar Police Station Md  Emdadul Haque  said.

Locals rescued the injured drivers and sent them to Sherpur District Sadar Hospital, where dump truck driver Shukur Ali succumbed to his injuries,   OC said.

Later, the injured easy bike driver Lutfar Rahman was sent to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
