CHAPAINAWABGANJ, March 26, 2024 (BSS) - The 54th Independence Day and
National Day is being observed here in a befitting manner.
The day's programme began with 31-gun salutes at Chapainawabganj Stadium
after the sunrise.
The national flag was hoisted atop all government, semi-government,
autonomous, non-government offices, educational institutions and other
private buildings.
Chapainawabganj district administration, different government and non-
government offices and organisations, Awami League and its front
organisations, Bangabandhu Parishad and educational institutions paid rich
tributes to the Liberation War martyrs by placing floral wreaths at the
monument of the martyred freedom fighters in front of the Deputy
Commissioner's office and at the mural of the Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Square in the town.
After hoisting of the national flag, students gathering and a grand march
past participated by Bangladesh Police, Ansar, VDP, BNCC, Fire Service,
Rovers, Scouts, Girl Guides and Chapainawabganj Jail were held at Dr. AAM
Mesbahul Hoque (Bachchu Daktar) Stadium at 8 am.
Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj AKM Galiv Khan and Superintendent of
Police Md. Saidul Hasan took salute in the march past.
Later, the participants in the march past displayed their events.
Chapainawabganj district unit of Bangladesh Awami League and its front
organisations organised a discussion and offered doa mahfil at its district
office. Later, they took out a procession in the town.
Other programmes-- a discussion, prize distribution and cultural function--
were scheduled to be held at Bangabandhu Mancha on the DC office premises
while reception to the families of martyred, wounded and other freedom
fighters was held at Zila Shilpakala Academy.
Special prayers are being offered at mosques and temples and
special foods were distributed to the inmates of orphanages, jail and
hospitals.
Besides, different educational institutions arranged discussion and doa
mahfil to mark the day.
