KHULNA, March 28, 2024 (BSS) - The Department of Livestock has begun three-day long eggs and milk sells programme for common people from today at the district Livestock office premises here in the city.
 
Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque inaugurated the sales programme as chief guest.
 
Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md Mozammel Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-general), Khulna Pulok Kumar Mondal, Divisional Livestock Officer Dr Lutfor Rahman and District Livestock Officer Dr Md. Shariful Islam were present as special guests.
 
The mayor said the government has taken various steps to reduce the prices of necessary essential commodities. 
 
Terming the kitchen markets are stable and most of the commodities prices have already declined during the month of holy Ramadan, he said adding that common people are now purchasing milk, meat and eggs in very reasonable price.
 
Talking to BSS, Dr Lutfor Rahman, Director of the Department of Livestock of Khulna division, said each people can buy 11 prices of egg at a cost of Taka 9 while one litre of milk is Taka 70.

“Although the sales activities have begun for three days, but we are trying to continue the programme till the end of the holy Ramadan,” he said.
