CHAPAINAWABGANJ, March 29, 2024 (BSS)- Speakers at a view-exchange meeting

here on Thursday stressed on bringing the people of third gender into the
mainstream development like other backward people of the society.

Banchar Asha Sangskritik Sangathan organised the programme under its
"Strengthening Capacity of Gender Diverse Community to Protect Their Right"
project to exchange views with the upazila-level officials of the government
and non-government offices at the conference room of Chapainawabganj Sadar
Upazila Parishad.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mst. Tasmina Khatun presided over the meeting.

Chairman of the Upazila Parishad (UP) Md. Tosiqul Islam Tosi addressed the
meeting as the chief guest while its Vice-chairmen Tosiqul Alam Babul and
Nasrin Akhtar spoke as special guests.

Coordinator of the organisation Md. Akhtaruzzaman gave the welcome speech.
 
President of the organisation Mostofa Sarker Bizli, its General Secretary
Afjal Hossain and all the upazila level government and non-government
officials and the media workers were present, among others.

The speakers said that the joint works of government and non-government
organisations have created the opportunity to rehabilitate the third gender
people in the society. They should be taken beside us with love and sympathy,
they added.
